About University

Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University was established in 1997 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It is the first full-fledged Law University which works towards achieving equality, social progress, fraternity, and equal justice. TNDALU promotes and provides access to legal education and develops the students to serve the society in the law field by developing their skills related to advocacy, law reforms, legal services, and legislations. TNDALU is a State University approved by UGC, recognised by BCI and AIU, and accredited by NAAC. Vision: To become a premier institute which provides legal education, promotes research, and emphasises on professionalism with Trans-disciplinary approach with an objective of achieving social justice. Mission: Providing a blend of professional legal skills and legal outlook with advanced research, promoting stress free environment, introducing e-learning modules catering to the global standards, and expanding links with Indian and foreign academic institutes, governmental and non-governmental organisations, and industries.

About Campus life
TNDALU provides adequate facilities to the students. This includes IT enabled classrooms, Wi-Fi, seminar halls, auditorium, NCC, NSS, health care, and more as follows: Library: The library at the University includes 8500+ National and International Journals, 36000+ Books, Periodicals, Reports, Encyclopedia, CD ROMs, 75+ Audio Cassettes, 4+ Video Cassettes, e-Journals, e-Books, Subscription to Online Databases, etc. It is automated with RFID technology and provides reprographic services, reference services, digital library, etc. It also has different sections such as technical section, periodicals section, etc. Moot Court: Students are provided with moot court facilities which help in enhancing the advocacy skills of the students. Hostel: The University provides separate accommodation to boys and girls. The hostels provide various facilities which include furnished rooms, TV, common room, mess, and all the basic services. Sports: The University organises inter-law collegiate competitions and sports day for the students. The students are encouraged to participate in the events organised by the University. The sports facilities provided to the students include cricket field, volleyball court, hockey field, tennis court, football field, chess boards, table tennis boards, gym, etc.
