Since its inception in 1996, the UGC-approved Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University has been offering UG and PG programs to students and training them with skills and knowledge required to succeed personally and professionally. It is accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade, and by MHRD & NCTE. The vision of BBAU is to become a creative, dynamic, and competitive academic centre that imparts advanced teaching significant for the economic, social, and educational development of the nation and society. Its mission is to nurture students, provide latest information, aid in their research and instructional amenities.

About Campus life
The campus of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University consists of multiple Departments, Academic Buildings, Residential Quarters, etc. that are completely equipped with LAN and Wi-Fi facilities. The campus facilities are: Central Library: The Central Library of the university is named after Lord Gautam Buddha which fosters knowledge through its effective distribution of information. The Library Advisory Committee is accountable for managing all the activities of the library. It has a seating capacity of around 400 students. Different sections of the library include the Acquisition Section, Circulation Section, Technical Section, Periodical Section, E-Library Section, Thesis Section, Braille Section, etc. where students can perform different functions. Computer Centre: The Computer Centre of the university is facilitated with internet amenities and computer systems as per the UGC schemes. It is also connected with the National Knowledge Network. Auditorium & Conference Halls: The campus has an Auditorium with a seating capacity for approximately 1100 students. The name of the auditorium is Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium. The premise also has SES Conference Hall and SAS Conference Hall with a seating capacity of 200+ students in each. The campus also has an Old Admin Council Hall that can accommodate approximately 150 students. Hostel: The University provides separate accommodation facilities for male and female students along with recreational amenities. Here students find an adequate environment to conduct their studies and research. Media Centre: To provide students with high-quality academic programs, the campus has a Media Centre. Here students can engage themselves in Multimedia and Video-based academic curriculum. Canteen: The campus has a canteen facility where students get refreshments, snacks, beverages, and other food items. Sports: The University focuses on the mental, emotional, and physical development of students by providing them a platform to excel in different sports. Currently, the campus of the university has a multipurpose sports ground where facilities are provided for games like Volleyball, Athletics, Football, Cricket, etc. Students can also get access to indoor sports like Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, etc. All the games are supervised by trainers and experts. Gymnasium: The University has a Birsa Munda Student Activity Centre where students can perform gym and other physical activities. Healthcare Centre: Basic Health services are provided at the university where students get first aid services under the supervision of qualified doctors and nursing staff. A dedicated building has been constructed on the premises as per the UGC guidelines. Coaching Centre for SC / ST Minorities: The University offers UGC Remedial Coaching Program, UGC NET Coaching Program, and Residential Coaching Academy programs for students belonging to the SC / ST categories. University Science Instrumentation Centre: The University has established this centre as the main facility. The Centre is situated in the School for Environmental Sciences building on its ground floor. This centre has instruments like Scanning Electron Microscope, Fast Performance Liquid Chromatography, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer, X-ray Diffractometers, etc. Other Facilities: Women's Cell and Day Care Centre, NCC, NSS, SC / ST Cell, Guest House, Bank, ATM, Post Office, etc.
