About University

Defence Institute of Advanced Technology was established in 1952. It was renamed in 1967 as Institute of Armament Technology (IAT) and was again renamed as DIAT in the year 2006. It aims to be a Centre of Excellence for research, education, and training in futuristic and contemporary technologies by consistent improvement and innovation. It is committed to produce quality manpower and become an innovative unique research university for developing defence related technologies and providing technological solutions. DIAT was awarded the Deemed to be University status in 2000. It is approved by UGC and AICTE and accredited by NAAC. About Campus life
DIAT provides facilities to the students which include laboratories, auditorium, sports, NSS, guest house, data center, and others which are mentioned below: Library: The institute has a library which has a vast collection of Books, Journals, Periodicals, Magazines, Thesis, Dissertations, Bibliographies, Newspapers, e-Books, e-Journals, e-Resources, etc. Library provides reference services, book bank services, OPAC, etc. Hostel: The male and female students are provided with separate accommodation facilities. The institute has hostels for girls, boys, and family accommodation for married students pursuing Ph.D. The Ganga hostel is for boys and girls and Krishna hostel is for boys. The hostels have furnished rooms, common room, TV room, dining hall, recreational facilities, and all the basic amenities. Medical: Medical facilities are provided to the students by well trained Medical Staff, Medical Officer, Gynaecologist, Physiotherapist, Pediatrician, etc.
