About University

Mahatma Gandhi University - MGU Nalgonda which was previously known by the name Nalgonda University was established in 2007 by Andhra Pradesh Government as part of their vision to provide access, justice, and comprehensiveness in higher studies. It was approved by UGC with the State University status in March 2008 and is re-accredited by NAAC with “B+” grade. Vision: The University was set with a vision to promote academic excellence so as to develop human resources capable of tuning in with the changing times and to reach out to the corporate world around its administration area. Mission: The Mission of the educational hub is to disseminate knowledge via scientific methods with the use of modern technology and to train people for the betterment of the society at state and national level. Students get degrees in various courses of different disciplines and at different levels at MGU Nalgonda. M.A, MBA, M.Com, M.Sc, B.Tech, MCA, etc are some of the courses run by the university in its following University Colleges: University College of Arts and Social Sciences University College of Science University College of Engineering and Technology University College of Commerce and Business Management

About Campus life
Since the academic session 2010-2011, the permanent campus of the university is located on the state highway (Nalgonda-Narketpally) at Annerparthy which is 7 kms from Nalgonda town and 90 kms from Hyderabad. The campus area covers an area of 240 acres of land and has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay and efficient learning. Listed below are some of the facilities present at the campus. Library: Library of the university was established in the year 2015 with a floor area of 27600 square feet. It has a collection of over 38,000 books and has subscribed to various national and international journals. It is fully automated and the digital resource centre of the library is providing access of e-learning resources to the readers. In addition to it there is a reading room and a conference hall with a seating capacity of 300 people. Medical Facility: To provide medical assistance to the students and staff, a Health care centre is operating at the university premise with a lady doctor. Emergency cases are referred to the specialist doctors from the Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospitals. Hostels: As the university is a residential campus, full-fledged facilities for accommodation are provided to the students. There are 2 boys’ hostels named Neelagiri Boys Hostel and Nagarjuna Boys Hostel, and 1 girl hostel named Krishnaveni Girls Hostel built within the university premise. The Girls hostel has a boundary wall all around the hostel building with a single entry for the safety of girl students and with a security guard present 24/7. The other facilities provided to hostlers include Mess, Housekeeping services, TV rooms, CCTV Surveillance, Health services, 24x7 Ambulance service, etc. Other Facilities: Gym, Seminar Hall, Ongrid Solar Power Plant, Bank, Canteen etc.
