About Campus life
SRMIST campus is spread over 120 acres of land with state of the art facilities like smart classrooms, seminar halls, laboratories, and other academic facilities to enhance the student’s learning process. In addition to the academic facilities, the institute’s campus is also equipped with modern facilities for comfortable living. The below points cover a few of the facilities available for students:
Library: The Central Library of the institute is spread over 720 square meters of area and is fully computerised. It currently holds more than 15,000 books and reference volumes and subscribes to over 80 national journals and newspapers.
Hostel: Separate hostels for both boys and girls students are built in the campus which stimulates positive learning and lively approach towards life. Rooms are furnished with tables, chairs, ceiling fans, cupboards, etc. Hostlers are offered tasty and delicious food in the mess with the dining hall, kitchen and other facilities. A gymnasium is also open for students’ daily workout.
Sports: Sports activities are encouraged in SRMIST Trichy. The institute conducts various state and national level events, and the students have also won medals in weightlifting, power lifting, basketball, throw ball, and many other games. The campus is equipped with facilities for both indoor and outdoor games like chess, carrom, basketball, etc.
Catering: To cater to the hunger needs of students and staff, a food court and canteen is functioning in the premises in a separate building. Students are offered different snacks, beverages, and other food items at affordable prices in the canteen. The food court supplies both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Furthermore, there is a separate section of fruit juices, continental food, and sweet dishes.
Transportation: The institute has a fleet of over 20 buses which covers different parts of Tiruchirapalli city, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Perambalur, Thirukattupalli, and some other nearest cities. The management makes sure that students and staff both attend the classes on time.
Medical Facility: A multi specialty and general hospital is operating in the campus providing general and dental treatment for free to students and staff. Patients are treated by experienced doctors and an ambulance facility is available 24x7. Various medical facilities available in the hospital include ICU services, lab services, ultrasound and X-ray, maternity care, trauma care, emergency operation, etc.
Other Facilities: Auditorium, Digital Information Board, Bank, Wi-Fi, Xerox and DTP facilities, and more.
