Chennai is considered as the gateway to South India and is amongst the fastest growing cities of the world. SRIHER is connected to Chennai city and neighboring suburbs. The University is connected with Poonamallee and Guindy by Mount-Poonamallee Road and with Nungambakkam by Arcot Road. Within the radius of 2 km, there is Reliance Super Market, Grace Super Market, More-Porur, and Nilgris-Porur. Within 15 km, there is International Airport, Post Office, Kathipara Junction, Chennai Trade Centre, and Mofussil Bus Terminus. SRIHER Chennai provides state of the art infrastructure and facilities to the students such as Laboratories, Auditorium, Bank, Post Office, Grocery Store, Parking, Active Learning Centre, DTP and Courier Service, facilities for Physically Challenged Students such as parking, ramps, lifts, etc. The other facilities provided by the University are mentioned below: Library: The library at the university has a wide collection of Journals, Books, Magazines, Newspapers, Periodicals, subscription to International Journals, Databases, E-Journals, E-Books, etc. Library has internet facilities, study hall, photocopying room, etc. NSS: The University has 4 NSS units with 380+ volunteers from different domains. NSS conducts medical camps, environmental protection programs, personality development programs, awareness campaigns etc. in the campus and in the villages. Canteen: Archana Tiffany’s Canteen provides hygienic and delicious food to the students. The canteen also has small service counters in the college area. Hostels: Hostel facilities are provided for both, national and international students. There are 7 hostels which include 5 for female and 2 for male students. The hostels have well furnished rooms, study hall, TV hall, guest room, and all the basic amenities. Transportation: The University has a transport department which is responsible for providing transport facilities to the students. There are 20+ buses, electric vehicles, 15+ ambulances for emergency situations, etc. The transportation facilities are usually provided in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Vellore, Kanchipuram, and far places such as Rasipuram for events. Sports: There is a volleyball court, cricket pitch, soccer ground, basketball court, tennis court, gymnasium, etc. for the students. The University conducts inter-college tournaments, state level, national level, and international level tournaments. Medical: Sri Ramachandra Hospital is located in the campus which caters to the training and learning requirements of the students. The hospital has laboratories, ICU, operation theatres, critical care beds, etc. which provide opportunities to the students to acquire practical skills. There is also a basic skills lab for the students pursuing Graduation.
