The year 1993 marked the establishment of the Academy of Maritime Education and Training University in Chennai. It received the Status of Deemed to be University in 2007 by the UGC. It has accreditation from NAAC and NBA. It also has the approval of MHRD and AICTE. Its vision is to establish itself as a global leader in providing quality Maritime education and nurture students with indepth knowledge through adopting unique and engaging teaching pedagogy.
