GNDU Amritsar campus was declared as the most ‘Swachh Campus’ among the public universities having big campuses. Almost all the buildings in the campus are surrounded by beautiful lawns with rows of trees, shrubs, and beautiful seasonal flowers. The campus is not only beautiful but is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities. The below points highlights some of the infrastructure facilities available in the campus: Library: The University library known as Bhai Gurdas Library is housed in a five storied building and is surrounded with teaching departments. It was established in the year 1970 and stocks a vast collection of both printed and digital learning resources. The library has subscribed to 60+ foreign journals and 120+ national journals. It is a member of INFLIBNET, hence providing access to a large number of e-learning resources. A separate Computer section, Binding section, Digital section, etc are present for readers. There is a Reading Hall in the library open 24x7. The university library has its own website to cater the needs of users. Hostel: GNDU Amritsar provides accommodation to students in a numbers of hostels, namely: Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Boys Hostel-I, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Boys Hostel-II, Mata Nanaki Girls Hostel-I, GNDU, Amritsar, Mata Nanaki Girls Hostel-II, Mata Nanaki Girls Hostel-III, and Mata Nanaki Girls Hostel-IV. Hostel rooms are well ventilated and spacious and fully-furnished with all basic facilities. Mess facility is available in all the hostels. Students’ safety is maintained by CCTV surveillance and appointing security guards at night. Canteen: Canteen services are available in all the hostels in the campus. It serves quality food products at a fixed price approved by Dean Students Welfare of the university. Students are offered a variety of snacks, beverages, bakery items, fast food stuff, and other food items in the canteen. Sports: The University campus is equipped with hi-tech sports facilities to encourage students for active participation in sports activities. Students are facilitated with various sports facilities like Table Tennis and Carrom Board, Badminton Courts, Volley-ball Court, Chess, Ludo, etc. The university gained widespread recognition due to its excellent achievements at the inter-university, national and international level. Training camps and tournaments are organised by the university in its sports complex which houses hockey stadium, swimming pool, stadium and playgrounds for sports like football, volleyball, kabaddi, handball, kho-kho, etc. Guest House: The Guest House of the university is located in the main campus in a calm and peaceful environment with botanical gardens surrounding it. Rooms are fully furnished with AC, LED TV, hot and cold water, Wi-Fi access, and other facilities. Medical Facilities: A Health Centre is opened in the university near the university hostels with paramedical services for students and staff.
