About University

The Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, established the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology-SLIET (Autonomous) in the year 1989, in Sangrur, Punjab. It is approved by UGC and AICTE and accredited by NAAC and NBA. Vision: SLIET works with the vision of developing and transferring technical competence in academics through formal and in-formal research, education, and entrepreneurship to meet the changing needs of society. Mission: SLIET aims to promote modern technologies, to develop, flexible, in-formal, modular, and multipoint entry programs in the field of engineering and technology, to promote self-development among the students, to extend services to the industrial areas, and to strengthen institute-industry linkages for sustainable development of research and academics. About Campus life
SLIET provides world class infrastructure facilities to the students. It has academic facilities that include access of LAN facility for the students along with the faculty members. The classrooms, seminar halls, auditorium, etc. are well equipped with smart-boards and Wi-Fi access for easy learning and understanding. Besides, the institute has other facilities too, like: Library Facility: SLIET library has a large volume of technical books, national and international journals for research purposes. It also has a digital section to access the e-resources, etc. Hostel Facility: SLIET has separate hostels for boys and girls in the campus. The hostels have comfortable rooms, reading rooms, internet connection, and wardens for the security of the students. Besides, it provides hygienic food to the students. Sports Facilities: Various sports are included under the sports facility like Cricket, Chess, Foot-Ball, Table-Tennis, Basket-Ball, etc. Other Facilities: Transport Facility, Medical Facility, Gymnasium, Canteen, etc.
