About Campus life
Located at Sunabeda, the campus of CUO is built in an area of 430.37 acres and is connected to National Highway 26. There are three railway station close to the university namely Koraput Railway Station (24 kms), Damanjodi Railway Station (20 kms), and Dumuriput Railway Station (12 kms). The campus of the university has a vibrant atmosphere as students from all over India and abroad comes to study here and share their cultures, language, and food, which helps the students in evolving. Students get a ragging-free environment along with Institutional Student Grievance Redressal Committee, Internal Complaint Committee, and Anti-Discrimination office inside the campus which makes it a safe and healthy academic environment. The infrastructure of the university fulfills all the academic and social needs of the students as it has well furnished and modern classrooms, e-classrooms, laboratories for practicals, sports, and all round internet connection, along with other services and facilities like:
Computer Lab: The University owns a computer centre that is equipped with 25+ systems, internet facility, and updated software. Students can take the benefit of the computer lab as it helps in enhancing technical knowledge and allows performing research work smoothly.
Library: The University has a Central Library that plays a vital role in providing research and study material to the students. The library is fully air-conditioned, spacious, and provides both printed and digital collection of reading materials. There are more than 38500 text books, 1000+ e-books, 130+ printed national & international journals, 15+ Ph.D theses, 800+ bound volumes, 65+ dissertations, 200+ DVDs & CDs, newspapers, magazines, e-journals, reports, and other e-resources. The library has a reading area with comfortable seating arrangement, CCTV cameras, and internet connection to facilitate smooth researching experience to the students.
Hostel: The University has hostels to facilitate the students coming from far away locations. There are accommodation facilities for girls and boys who stay separately. Overall the hostel campus is built in an area of 7735 square meter with 230+ rooms. Each room is built in an area of 105 square feet and is spacious, modern, clean, and well maintained. Mess facilities are also provided to the hostellers that serves hygienically cooked meals with home-like delicious taste.
Canteen: Canteen is present in the campus that provides the students with a range of menu at affordable rates. Students can refresh themselves by visiting the canteen as it has multiple beverages and dishes to offer.
Medical Facilities: The University has a dispensary that looks after the medical needs and requirement of the students. A full time nurse and doctor have been appointed by the university to look after the students and the dispensary. Apart from this, the university also provides ambulance services during medical emergencies only.
