Formerly known as Marathwada University, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University was established in 1958 to impart quality education, moral values, and rich culture to youth. This university is approved by UGC and reaccredited by NAAC with “A” grade. Vision Mission The vision of BAMU is to become a hub of brilliance in creating and imparting standard and quality education among the students keeping research and the changing scenario of the world in mind. About Campus life

Located near Soneri Mahal, Jaisingpura, the campus of the university is well-built and can be easily accessed via air, road, or train. The infrastructure of the university is world-class and it is equipped with all the major amenities and facilities. BAMU has academically equipped classrooms with comfortable and spacious seating areas, guest house, internet facilities, and various other amenities and services like: Library: BAMU has a Knowledge Resource Center (KRC) that provides the students with a world of knowledge. The library is divided into three floors i.e. first floor, ground floor, and basement. To facilitate the students academically, KRC has a rich collection of reading and research material like 4600+ Ph.D. thesis, 40000+ periodicals (back volume), 200+ national & international print journals, 4000+ manuscripts, newspapers, etc. The library has a spacious and well-lit reading section and a digital section with fast internet services and 15000+ e-journals, 4000+ e-books, rare online databases, CDs & DVDs, and other online databases. Hostels: The University has excellent accommodation facilities for girl students. The hostel premise is green and provides a comfortable and easy stay for the students. There are 9 girls’ hostels on the campus and the rooms of each hostel are well-maintained, furnished, well-lit, and safe. The hostellers are provided with facilities 24/7 and wardens take care of the students and their needs. The mess area of the hostels serves delicious, fresh, and home-like food to the students, keeping the health of the students in mind. Sports: BAMU has excellent sports arrangements for the students as it believes in the overall development of the students. The university has various indoor and outdoor games for both male and female students. Students here are also motivated and encouraged to take part in various inter-collegiate events and tournaments like Lawn Tennis, Kabaddi, Softball, Boxing, Weight Lifting, etc. Other Facilities: Laboratories, Health Facilities, NSS Camps, etc.
