Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication was established in 1990. It is also known as Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Evam Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. The University was established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and emphasises on training and professional education. It is considered as a pioneer in journalism, mass communication, computer applications, media, management, and digital media. It aims to transform the ambitions and dreams of the individuals into global opportunities. It emphasises on holistic approach and inculcates right values to graduate socially responsible individuals. MCNUJC is a State University approved by UGC and AICTE. About Campus life
MCNUJC is located in Bhopal which is also known as the City of Lakes. Bhopal has various artificial and natural lakes and is amongst the cleanest and greenest cities of India. The University is enclosed in twin multi-storied buildings and is situated in MP Nagar which is adjoining the Press Complex. It is spread over 7000 square meters and provides different facilities for the benefit of the students. The facilities include spacious classrooms, laboratories, canteen, auditorium, gymnasium, ATM, and more as mentioned below: Library: The University has a well-stocked library which is equipped with 40000+ Books, Journals, Periodicals, Magazines, 30+ Regional and National Newspapers, E-Resources, E-Journals, E-Books, etc. It provides OPAC facilities, etc. Hostel: Separate residential facilities are provided to the male and female students of the University. Each hostel can accommodate 140+ students and is equipped with furnished rooms, warden, mess, common room, and all the basic facilities. Sports: For the holistic development of the students, the University organises inter-departmental sports competitions. The students are encouraged to participate in the competitions and extra-curricular activities. Medical: The students are provided with medical facilities in the campus. A doctor is available with the first aid facilities and caters to the medical requirement of the students.
