Tumkur University was established in the year 2004 in Tumkur, Karnataka. Located at Vishwavidyanilaya Karyalaya, B.H Road, Tumkur, the campus of the university is advanced and hi-tech, offering excellent social and academic life to the students. Moreover, the university has also established multiple centres and cells like SC/ST Cell, Centre for Women’s Studies, and International Centre. All these centres and cells work for the benefit of the students and provide them with various programs which help them grow and become self-confident. Facilities provided to the students are spacious & modern classrooms, wireless internet facility in the entire campus, along with few other facilities like: Library: Tumkur University facilitates its students with an organised and stocked Central Library. This library provides printed and digital reading material along with computer systems and the internet. The library covers all the disciplines and provides more than 27000 books, 3700+ reference materials, 9+ printed journals, 190+ e-books, 13000+ e-journals, 950+ project reports, 20+ audio-visual, 11+ newspapers in local & regional languages, 100+ theses, 175+ DVDs & CDs, encyclopedia, etc. A reading area is also provided to the students and fulfills the stationery needs of the students as it has a reprographic facility with a photocopying machine. Language Laboratory: To communicate in a professional environment, the knowledge of English is a must. Hereby, the university has established a Language Lab to facilitate the students. This lab works to enhance the communication skills of the students along with their knowledge of the English Language. Various advanced tools and technologies are used in this process. Hostel: The University has ample hostel facilities for girls, boys, and SC/ST students. The hostel campus is clean, safe, and student-friendly.
