About Campus life
The campus of the university is student-friendly and it is located in Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Marg, Jamia Nagar. The campus of the university is built keeping the modern academic and training needs of the students. JMI organises a range of events and functions to cheer up the students and the students are also motivated to take part in events and showcase their talents and hobbies. This central university is equipped with advanced technologies and services as it has a campus-wide network and internet, well-furnished & smart classrooms, computer training centres & labs, along with other major amenities and services like:
Library: The University has electronic and advanced library system which is known as Dr. Zakir Husain Central Library. This library is world-class in terms of services, resources, and infrastructure and it is built in an independent building covering an area of 9930 sq. mtr. The library has a collection of both digital and printed books and resources that covers all the disciplines offered in the university and beyond. There are more than 3 lakh books, 1500+ theses, national & foreign journals, 420+ old series, 40+ newspapers, e-books, e-journals, periodicals, 8900+ references, 9600+ textbooks, magazines in Hindi and English languages, etc. Computer systems with internet facilities are also provided to the students inside the library for smooth online research. Apart from books, the library has a Manuscript Section that consists of more than 2230 manuscripts in various languages like Urdu, Arabic, or Persian and it also houses more than 750 rare books. The library has furnished reading hall that can accommodate up to 1400 students at a time.
Hostel: To facilitate the students coming from other states and cities to study in JMI, the university has established well-furnished and spacious hostels for both girls and boys. The hostels are headed by educated wardens who look after the issues of the students and for safety; security guards are present in the hostel campus 24x7. The rooms of the hostels are built keeping the important needs and requirements of the hostellers in mind. The hostellers are also provided with mess facilities where they are served delicious and home-cooked non-vegetarian and vegetarian food.
Sports: At JMI, students get the best sports and physical fitness infrastructure as it understands that sports and games are important for the overall growth of the students. The university provides both indoor and outdoor games and infrastructure to the students like Badminton court, Snooker room, Basketball court, Lawn Tennis court, Table Tennis court, Cricket ground, Volleyball court, Jogging track, Athletics, Hockey ground, Swimming Pool, Boxing & Wrestling area, Shooting area, etc. It trains the students with the help of expert sports trainers & coaches and encourages them to be a part of various sports events and annual tournaments.
