UPRTOU or Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University is a distance learning public university recognised by Distance Education Bureau, UGC and accredited by NAAC with a “B+” grade. The university has nine schools that offer 128 courses at certificate, diploma, UG, PG and doctoral levels. The BEd course at UPRTOU is recognised by the NCTE, whereas the BEd Special Education course is approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India. Further, MBA and MCA courses are recognised by the AICTE. UPRTOU has 670 study centres and more than 100 exam centres. The university has a faculty and students strength of 51 and 1250, respectively. UPRTOU admissions in majority of the courses are offered on merit basis. The university conducts an entrance examination for MBA, MCA, BEd and BEd Special Education admission. The training and placement cell at the university provides numerous placement opportunities to students. Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University was established in the year 1999 and its campus covers an area of 5.5 acres.
