NIT Srinagar is a public university of technology in Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir, India. It was founded in 1960 as one of six Regional Engineering Colleges as part of the Government of India's Second Five-Year Plan (1956–1961). It is administered by the National Institutes of Technology Act of 2007, which recognizes it as an Institute of National Significance.
