Periyar University provides various facilities to the students which helps them in their overall development. The facilities provided by the University include internet centre, bank, transportation, guest house, parking slots, post office, day care centre, media laboratory, solar plant, student amenity centre, bio gas unit, networking facilities, miyawaki forest, and more as mentioned below:
Library: The library of the University has 98000+ Volumes of Reference Books and Text Books, 120+ National and Foreign Journals, Thesis, Dissertations, Question Banks, 10+ Newspapers, etc. It has different sections such as text book section, reference section, reprographic section, back volumes section, books for competitive exams, etc.
Auditorium: The auditorium is equipped with centralised air-conditioned, audio systems, and can accommodate 1000+ members.
Food Court: Students are provided with a spacious food court which serves food and snacks. It can accommodate 900+ students.
Biodiversity Garden: It encompasses endangered and rare flora, fossils, and medicinal and ornamental plant species. The biodiversity garden also has a museum which has the specimens of endangered and rare species such as Bryophytes, Angiosperm, Pteridophytes, Fungi, Algae, and Gymnosperm, and Tribal Seeds.
Hostel: The University has 3 hostel buildings which provide accommodation for male and female students. The hostels have mess, furnished rooms, guest rooms, TV, warden, and all the basic amenities.
Sports: The sports complex and the department of physical education organises indoor and outdoor sports activities for the students. The sports facilities provided to the students include 1+ Basketball Courts, Cricket Field, 2+ Volleyball Courts, 1+ Football Fields, Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium, etc.
Health Centre: The University has a Health Centre which has a medical officer and nurse which caters to the medical requirements of the students. It has beds, medicines, and provides medical consultation to the students.
