The foundation stone of Lalit Narayan Mithila University was laid down in 1972 in Darbhanga. It has approval from UGC to function as a State University in Bihar. It also has accreditation from NAAC. Its vision is to provide transformative education and training that can fulfil the objectives of students and can contribute towards overall development and inculcating professionalism among them. About Campus life

The campus of Lalit Narayan Mithila University is situated at Kameshwar Nagar, Darbhanga, Bihar. It has a Central Library that provides students an air-conditioned reading hall where they can sit peacefully to study. The total area covered by the library within the campus is approximately 25,000 sq. ft. Its collection includes 219050+ Books, 14600+ Journals, 122520+ Titles, 2350+ Back Volumes, and Newspapers. The university also has accommodation facilities for its students. The campus has approximately 3 Boys’ Hostels and 1 Girls’ Hostel. Each hostel has several facilities like a Mess, Recreation Room, Medical Care Centre, Indoor & Outdoor Games, and other recreational facilities.
