About University

PRIST University is situated in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, and was founded back in the year 1985. In the year 1985, it was established under the name of Ponnaiyah Ramajayam College which later in 2008 became Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science & Technology, that is, PRIST. PRIST University gained the standing of Deemed to be university in the same year when it became a university and has been granted A rank by NAAC. The university is recognized by the UGC and has AICTE approval for its technology as well as management courses. NCTE has approved the educational courses at the university and COA has given approval to the architecture courses at the university, and it is also ISO certified. The university has also procured approvals from PCI, BCI, and DSIR over the period of time since its inception. PRIST University has memberships in IEEE, ICI, CSI, and ISTE associations. At the university UG, M.Phil, PG, Ph.D., Integrated, as well as value-added courses to the students. There are various departments at the university namely, the School of Engineering & Technology that offers B.Tech and M.Tech courses in various fields like CSE, Mechanical, ECE, and a few more. Another school at the university is the School of Arts and Science under which numerous departments come; they are departments of Tamil, Computer Science, Physics, English, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Life science. Other schools at the university impart knowledge in different streams to the students are the School of Education, Commerce & Business Management, Architecture, Agriculture, Pharmacy, and Law. The facilities are: Library: The mission of the library at PRIST University is to provide diverse, flexible, and information-centred knowledge to the students through the knowledge resource centre that is the library. Yoga centre: Yoga creates an atmosphere of body acceptance among its practitioners. This in turn inspires yoga students to have an entirely new amount of confidence. ATM: There is an ATM inside the premises of the university to serve the students as well as faculty and staff members with the banking facilities. Gymnasium: There is a separate gymnasium at the university keeping in mind the physical fitness of the students.
