Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya Wardha came into being with an act passed in the Indian Parliament in 1997. The Central University works towards promoting Hindi language and literature and to make Hindi language being acknowledged as a global language. It is accredited by NAAC with “A” grade. Vision: The University envisions of becoming a unique institute for the development and promotion of Hindi language as an international language all over the world. Mission: Its mission is to promote Hindi Language at regional, national, and international level. The University provides courses at UG, PG, Diploma, Doctorate, and M.Phil level. Students can pursue regular, distance, and international programs in the university. Some of the courses run by the university include M.A, Diploma in Business Management-Correspondence, M.Sc in Electronic Media, Master of Social Work, PGDCA, PGDJMC, MBA, Integrated B.Ed+M.Ed, BA, Ph.D, B.A.LL.B, M.Phil, and more. These courses are being taught in the eight schools operating under the university, they are: School of Language School of Law School of Culture School of Education School of Literature School of Humanities and Social Sciences School of Management School of Translation and Interpretation

About Campus life
The University’s campus is located in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra state. It is spread over 212 acres of land at Wardha. The well-established infrastructure of the university was designed in a way to support the education journey of the students. The academic block of the university is equipped with ICT enabled classrooms, language lab, media lab, computer lab, and content development facilities. It has set up an Auditorium with a strength to accommodate 1000 persons with a high-tech light and sound system. Apart from the academic facilities, students are provided with several facilities for homely stay. Some of the facilities available in the campus are covered in the points below: Library: The Library of the university is known by the name of Mahapandit Rahul Sankrityayan Central Library and is housed in a two storey building. It stocks over 1,22,000 books of various disciplines. Apart from the Central Library, every department has its own separate departmental libraries. The entire library complex is Wi-Fi enabled and the computer lab facility is available for research purposes. Students can access electronic learning resources, as the Central Library is a member of J-Gate, JCCC, Springer Link, J-Store, and Economic and Political Weekly. Hostel: The University provides hostel facilities to both boy and girl students. It has 6 boys’ hostels and 2 girls’ hostels. The names of all the hostels are named after freedom-fighters. The five boys’ hostels are: Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chatravaas, Bhagat Singh Chatravaas, Rajguru Chatravaas, Birsa Munda Chatravaas, Sukhdev Chatravaas, Chandrashekhar Aazad Chatravaas, and the two girls’ hostels are Savitribai Phule Girls Chatravaas and Father Kamil Bulke International Chatravaas. Mess committees are set-up in every hostel consisting of representatives from students who ensure healthy and delicious meals are provided to every hostler. Computer Lab: To provide modern digital education, a computer lab exists in the university. Free internet is provided to students to promote research and knowledge acquisition in the relevant fields. Sports: The University has a sports complex, namely, “Major Dhyanchand Krida Bhavan '' spread over 16,200 square meter area with facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. An Open Gym, Basketball Court, Badminton Court, Aerobic and Yoga Hall, Gymnasium in most of the hostels, are some of the sports facilities available for students. Besides these facilities Annual Sports Competitions are organised by the university to encourage sportsmanship among students. Health Care Facilities: All teaching and non-teaching staff and students are provided medical treatment in the hospital situated within the university campus. Two doctors are appointed to look after patients at set times. For emergencies, an ambulance is also available within the premises. Other Facilities: Shopping Complex, Museum, Residential Blocks, Common Rooms, Separate Restrooms, Guest House, Bank, Day Care Centre, etc.
