Awadhesh Pratap Singh University is a public state university established in the year 1968. The university is named after Captain Awadhesh Pratap Singh (freedom fighter). It is popularly known as APS University or APSU Rewa. The university was recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1972. APSU Rewa is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and All Commonwealth Association of Universities (ACAU). The university has highly qualified faculty members that hold handsome industrial and teaching experience. At present, around 210 colleges are affiliated to APS University. The campus of the university covers an area of 250 acres of land. APSU Rewa has 13 departments offering certificate, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. BCA, B.Com (Hons), BA (Hons), BA LLB, B.P.Ed, MBA, MA, M.Sc, PhD etc. are some of the popular APS University courses. The university provides merit based admission in most of the courses. Every year students are offered summer internships and placement opportunities at the campus. APSU Rewa campus has modern facilities such as well stocked library, smart classrooms, guest house, bank, auditorium etc.

About Campus life
APSU is spread over 258 acres and is at a distance of 5 kms from the main city of Rewa. Rewa is also called the land of white tigers and is an important centre for education. The University provides various facilities for the students which include smart classrooms, laboratories, guest house, medicine garden, incubation center, community hall, park, bank, ATM, post office, and more as mentioned below: Library: The Central Library can accommodate 90+ students and has a collection of 70000+ Books, 4500+ Research Papers, 2500+ Thesis, Journals, Reference Materials, Magazines, etc. It provides book bank services, computer facilities, photocopying services, and reference services. Auditorium: The Shambhunath Auditorium can accommodate 500+ members and is equipped with all the necessary facilities. Canteen: It provides food, beverages, and snacks to the students at affordable and convenient rates. It is ensured that the students are provided with quality food in a hygienic manner. Hostel: The outstation students are provided with the hostel facilities. The campus has 2 hostels, 1 for the male students and 1 for the female students. The hostels are equipped with all the necessary amenities. Sports: Students are provided with sports facilities such as Football Ground, Yoga Hall, Gymnasium Hall, Cricket Field, Basketball Court, etc. The students are encouraged to participate in sports competitions and inter-university tournaments. Health Care Center: The University has a Health Care Center which is recognised as Mukhyamantri Sanjivani Clinic. It caters to the medical requirements of the students.
