Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University (VSKUB) is a state university established by the Government of Karnataka under the Karnataka State Universities Act 2000. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The VSKUB courses are offered at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels in various fields such as arts, science, management, law, education, and engineering. There are several departments and faculties at Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University namely the Department of Applied Science, Faculty of Business Studies, Department of Education, Department of Pure Sciences, Department of Social Sciences, Department of Arts, and Department of Law. The main VSKUB campus is located at Jnana Sagara Campus, Ballari spread over an area of about 95.37 acres. VSKUB has three more campuses which include the Nandihalli campus which is located at Nandihalli about 8 KMs from Sandur town, the Koppal campus established at the heart of Koppal city, and the Yelburga campus. The VSKUB admission process varies depending on the course opted for by the candidates. Admission at VSKUB courses for the UG level is done on a merit-based while for PG courses, the admission is based on the entrance exams such as PGCET for MBA and other PG courses, and the university will use the merits to calculate the provisional list. There are several VSKUB facilities offered to the students such as a library, hostels, sports facilities, a gym, a cafeteria, medical, computer labs, an auditorium, and wifi connectivity. The VSKUB placement report 2022 states that 35 PG students who chose a 2-year programme were successfully placed out of 1152 and were offered a median salary of Rs 1,55,000 (one lakh fifty five thousand only) LPA.
