Indian Law Institute New Delhi, commonly known by the name ILI, was established on 27th December 1956 to promote research in Law. The institute is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and was granted a Grade II Autonomy by UGC. It got Deemed to be University status on 29th October 2004. ILI is accredited by NAAC with “A” grade. The institute has made a notable contribution in law since its formation in 1956. Vision: The institute is working with a vision to become a prominent institute of legal studies and research globally. It contributes its efforts to improve the management of justice to fulfill the social and economical needs of people through law. Mission: The mission of the institute is to promote and encourage education and research in law and allied fields. To undertake its mission, it cooperates with several institutions, organisations, and societies. Indian Law Institute provides PG, M.Phil, and Ph.D degrees. Online certificate courses in Cyber law and Intellectual Property of three months duration are also provided by ILI New Delhi.

About Campus life
ILI institute is housed in a four story building constructed opposite to the Supreme Court at Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi. The building is built on one and a half acres of land. The management makes sure to provide all facilities for efficient learning. The Classrooms, Seminar Halls, Conference Halls are installed with modern equipment. Research facilities are updated timely to cater to the needs of modern day education. Moreover, ICT facilities like computers, photocopier-cum-printers, internet connection, etc. are available for students to provide better learning. Some other facilities available for students at ILI are briefly discussed in the following points: Library: ILI Library is housed on the ground floor. It holds more than 75,000 titles. The learning resources available in the library include Books and Monographs, Constitutions of all Nations, Government Publications, Committee and Commission reports, Bills of Parliament, Rare Documents, Indexes, etc. The Library is recognised by UGC for legal research in law and political science. Also, the institute has signed a MoU with National Digital Library of India to provide access to the students of the e-learning resources. Sports: Adequate facilities for different outdoor and indoor sports are available at the institute’s campus. A Badminton and Volleyball Court are present at the ILI campus. There is a Gym available for the law students to maintain and improve their physical and mental fitness. A Plenary Hall equipped with the modern machines, video conference, live streaming, etc facilities are available. Other Facilities: Guest House, Meeting room, Laboratory, etc.
