Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU Nashik, YCMOU Digital University, or Maharashtra Open University Nashik), established in 1989, is considered one of the leading institutions for distance and part-time education in India. Yashwantrao Maharashtra Open University is the fifth Open University in India. YCMOU Nashik has been recognised under section 12 (B) of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. YCMOU Digital University is a member of various prestigious associations and academic bodies such as the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU), International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE), and others. The Yashwantrao Digital University is currently operated through its headquarters at Nashik, 8 regional centers located at Nashik, Pune, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Nanded, Amravati, and Nagpur region, and 1711 Learner support centers (LSCs) established for 64 academic programmes are spread all over the entire State of Maharashtra. YCMOU Nashik offers more than 100 courses at the UG, PG, and Research levels. In addition to this, the university also offers 35 Certificates and 29 Diploma programmes under 8 schools. YCMOU admission into the UG and PG courses (except MBA, MPH, and PhD) is based on merit in the qualifying exam. The university conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to the MBA & MPH courses. YCMOU PhD admissions are based on the PhD Entrance Test (PET) scores and a personal interview conducted by the university. The university also encourages financially and categorically backward students with several scholarships with the intent to promote equal opportunities. YCMOU Digital University Placements are conducted by the YCMOU Placement Cell. The highest and lowest packages offered during YCMOU Nashik placements in the recent past stood at INR 4 LPA and INR 2.5 LPA, respectively.
