About Campus life
The Wi-Fi enabled campus of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University is spread in an area of approximately 451 acres of land. The University has a state-of-the-art infrastructure to provide a conducive study environment to the students. There are common rooms available for boys and girls. The smart classrooms of the University are equipped with teaching aids such as LCD projectors, desktop computers, smart boards, etc. Additional amenities available in the University for the students are: Library: There is a Central library in the University called KRC - the Knowledge Resource Centre. The KRC building is spread in approximately 8094 square metres of land in the middle of the University and is divided into various sections like Periodicals Section, Reference Section, Computer Section, etc. It is automated and well-stocked with books, journals, back holdings of journals, theses, databases, dissertations, reports, proceedings of seminars and conferences, etc. in print and digital formats. The University has subscribed to IEEE for online publications. Access to other e-learning resources is available like MIT, NPTEL, SWAYAM, e-PG Pathshala, e-ShodhSindhu, NDL, Shodhganga, OpenCourseWare, etc. There are various departmental libraries in the University that house traditional and digital educational resources. Laboratories: The laboratories of the Universities are equipped with the latest equipment and machineries to provide experiential learning experience to the students. Some of the departmental laboratories available are: Electrical Engineering Lab Computer Lab Genetic Engineering Lab Bioenergetics Lab Palaeomagnetic Lab Petro-chemical Lab Remote sensing and GIS Lab Language Lab Food Science and Nutrition Lab Cafeteria: Students are served tea and snacks in the University’s cafeteria. Hostel: Girls and boys are provided with separate accommodation facilities in the campus premises. The hostels have requisite amenities for the students to have a comfortable stay. Hygienic mess facilities are available. Other facilities include a Computer room with 24x7 internet connectivity, purified drinking water, hot water facilities, a common TV, gymnasium for girls, etc. Indoor game facilities for chess, volleyball, basketball, and carom are available. Sports: The University has world-class sports infrastructural facilities and sports equipment. It regularly organised inter-collegiate and inter-university tournaments and other sports activities to keep the students engaged and physically fit. The sports infrastructure includes grounds and courts for volleyball, kho-kho, korfball, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, table tennis, tennis, handball, kabaddi, badminton, etc. Additional facilities include an athletic track, swimming pool, gymnasium, etc. Medical Facilities: The University provides round the clock medical facilities through its ‘Health Centre’ to the students in presence of a Medical Officer and a Health Attendant. It also has a well-equipped ambulance and collaboration with the nearby Superspeciality hospitals for medical emergencies. Other Facilities: Bank, ATM, Auditorium, Seminar hall, conference room, etc.
