Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya - MMYVV Katni came into existence in 1995 following the act passed in the Madhya Pradesh Legislature. It is approved by UGC, as a Private University, and is a member of AIU. The university is known to provide Vedic education based on life and modern education. Students pursuing various courses in the university are basically from rural and semi-rural areas. MMYVV provides courses from Diploma to Doctorate level in several Vedic aspects like Sthapatya Ved-Vastu Vidya, Gandharva Ved-Indian Classical Music, Maharishi Ved Vigyan, Darshan Shastra, etc. Besides the Vedic courses, the other degree courses provided by the university include B.A, B.Com, B.Ed, B.Sc, DCA, PGDCA, M.Sc, etc. Teaching courses of MMYVV are approved by NCTE. The above mentioned courses are provided under the following faculty heads in English and Hindi medium only. About Campus life
MMYVV campus is located 80km away from Jabalpur in Katni district, Madhya Pradesh. It is surrounded by natural beauty with green hillocks. In addition with the beautiful surrounding environment, students are bestowed with state of the art infrastructure for efficient learning and comfortable stay. Some of the facilities provided by the university students are briefly discussed in the following points: Hostels: Students coming from outside Katni district are provided accommodation in the hostels built within the university campus. Separate hostels are built to accommodate girls and boys students. Residing students are served hygienic and nutritious meals in dining halls. Library: Library is one of the most important part for MMYVV. It is well-furnished and holds a collection of over 27,000 books. There are audio-visual rooms and a computer lab with internet connectivity to access e-learning resources. Sports: Sports are encouraged in the university. There is a Sports Complex built in the university premise with several facilities for indoor and outdoor games. A sports in charge is appointed to train the students about using the sports facilities in the complex. Canteen: A well-maintained canteen is available in the university campus providing tea, coffee, lunch, breakfast, and dinner at economical rates. Other Facilities: Seminar Halls, Laboratories, Computer Centres, Medical Facilities, Solar System, Transportation, etc.
