About University

University of Agricultural Sciences was established in 1963 in Bangalore, Karnataka and inaugurated by Dr. Zakir Hussain, the vice president of India in 1964. The university provides education in the field of agriculture. UAS Bangalore is accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The university has six colleges under it namely, College of Agriculture Bangalore, College of Agriculture Mandya, College of Agriculture Hassan, College of Sericulture Chintamani, College of Agriculture Chamarajanagar and College of Agricultural Engineering GKVK. UAS Bangalore also has one Main Research Station, two Zonal Agricultural Research Stations, 10 Agricultural Research Stations and seven Krishi Vigyan Kendras. The UAS Bangalore course list comprises undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in various agricultural fields such as crop physiology, food science and nutrition, agricultural statistics, plant biochemistry, agriculture business management, sericulture, food technology, agriculture engineering, etc. Admissions at UAS Bangalore are done on the basis of marks obtained in entrance examinations such as UG KCET, PGCET, CUET UG, ICAR AIEEA, and JRF/SRF. As per UAS Bangalore admission process, candidates belonging to the state of Karnataka have to appear for UG KCET for undergraduate courses and PGCET for postgraduate courses. Candidates from outside of Karnataka and foreign candidates have to apply for UAS Bangalore admissions through ICAR. Candidates have to appear for CUET (ICAR UG) as per the UAS Bangalore UG admission process, and PG candidates have to appear for ICAR AIEEA PG. PhD candidates can apply for UAS admissions through ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF. Candidates must ensure that they meet the UAS Bangalore eligibility criteria before applying for any of the courses. The UAS Bangalore campus offers a wide range of facilities to its students, such as classrooms, laboratories, library, hostel facilities, sports facilities, research centres, placement cell, etc. The UAS Bangalore placement cell thoroughly trains and assists the students to get placed in top firms and companies. As per UAS Bangalore placement 2022, more than 700 UG students had participated in the campus drive, and the median salary offered was Rs 5 LPA. A total of 279 PG students had participated in the UAS Bangalore placement drive 2022 and were offered a median salary of Rs 7.5 LPA.

Laboratories: UAS Bangalore has advanced laboratories for research purposes in areas such as plant pathology, biotechnology, soil science, etc. Hostels: UAS Bangalore has separate hostels for male and female students Research Centres: The UAS Bangalore campus has several research centres for various agricultural research projects. Medical and Health centre: The University of Agricultural Sciences campus has a health centre that offers medical services to students including emergency care.
