About University

Oriental University Indore is a top private university of the state that came into existence in the year 2011. Today Oriental University, is looked upon as one of the most notable private universities in Central India. OUI Indore was formed by one of the leading charitable trusts of Indore called Devi Shakuntala Thakral Charitable Foundation. The Group started way back in 1995 and since then has made some notable contributions. The university doesn’t just have its colleges in Indore but in Jabalpur and Bhopal too. It is also the first private universities of Indore. Mr. Praveen Thakral is the current chancellor of the university. The university has earned all the recognitions as directed by top bodies like the UGC, PCI, NCTE, and BCI. The University as of now offers around 60 courses in various streams like pharmacy, engineering, commerce, management, law, science, humanities, agriculture, computer application, and education among others. The university offers all the popular degrees like B.Tech, M. Tech, B.Sc, M. Sc, BBA, MBA, B.Com, and B.Ed to name a few. One area in which the university has excelled is in its R&D programs. The campus of the university is lush green and is spread in over 77 acres of land. The university was built by one of the most decorated architects in India, M/s Hafeez Contractors. OUI has always intended in marching forward so that they can develop professionally, socially, and personally responsible people who shouldn’t just contribute but leave their mark in the industry they work for. The university environment is totally committed to make students grow and find success. For that the university has ensure that students of the university are career ready even before the course is completed. They are also taught community engagement, health, and last but not the least on how to become a responsible human being. The university has listed its mission plan on their website and they are: The transition of students should be such that they understand the value of learning. To create a stimulating and safe environment for curious and bright students so that they could freely connect with anyone and learn from whomever possible on the campus. About Campus life
More than anything it’s the buildings and architecture of the university that can drive anyone crazy. One will find lobby as clean as a whistle and a sign of Laxmi made at the lobby will drive student to do their best to get maximum moolah. The fully air-conditioned computer lab needs no further validation that it has n number of PCs and the entire lab is air-conditioned. The classrooms have speakers attached at the centre and the benches are quite comfortable too. Since, law is one of the most preferred courses here at the university, a small moot court has been built to make sure that student get a complete court room feeling. Around 300-seaters seminar hall is adept for having every small or big function that happens at the college. Apart from seminar hall, there’s a fully equipped auditorium too. The staff quarter building has fully furnished room that has a TV and cable connection too. For students, fully equipped hostels have been built that has ample options in terms of rooms to choose from. The hostels are huge here and over 1000 students stay at the campus. Now the sports facilities at Oriental University Indore are such that one will be spoilt for choices. So, all in all the 77-acre Oriental University campus is fully equipped and has everything that one longs for during his/her student life.
